The past few months have been very busy for the Go Transpo project, which is expanding the model used by Transportation for Tantramar to all of Westmorland and Albert Counties. EOS has been engaging communities across the region to gain an understanding of existing opportunities and barriers for transportation. Public input is being solicited in a number of ways to create a model for transportation that reflects the people who live here.
Thus far EOS has collected input via a survey as well as through conversations with key organizations within the community. Public meetings were held in Decemeber with the objective to collectively create a vision for community transportation. These meetings generated a lot of passionate and productive discussion.
Community Conversations were held in:
- Moncton
- Petitcodiac
- Riverside Albert
- Shediac
Next Steps for EOS and the Go Transpo Project…
Input from the community as well as research into successful transportation initiatives in other communities will be compiled into a feasibility study, which will be used as a basis for an action plan for community transportation across the region.
