Our Vision
EOS envisions a safe, thriving and resilient Chignecto Region in the face of climate change.
Our History
EOS Eco-Energy’s roots are in an initiative to start a community-owned wind farm in the early 2000s. Local residents in the Tantramar area of New Brunswick started the Tantramar Wind Power Association and later Renew Co-op. They commissioned a wind map and a feasibility study for a local wind farm.
What's in a Name?
Eos is the Greek word for dawn or new beginning. The original thought was to use “EOS” as an acronym (e.g. Energy, Opportunity, Sustainability). After careful consideration, it was decided that using the simple Greek meaning was the best use to convey the identity of the group.
Our Region
We serve the Chignecto border region of south east New Brunswick and beyond. EOS would like to respectfully acknowledge that our work is done on the traditional, unceded lands and waters of the Mi’kmaq. Testimonial
The Nature Conservancy of Canada is forever grateful to EOS for helping us fund a grid tied photovoltaic solar energy system for our shorebird interpretive centre. Thanks EOS our carbon offset from producing 1,680,344 watt hours of power since 2016, is equivalent to saving around 33 trees. Thank you EOS we are so proud.
