Discussions are always richer with more minds around the table!
There will be four public gatherings on the priority topics for the Tantramar region throughout February and March. Priority topics include: transportation, food, coastal issues, energy, water, social supports, local business development and bioregional planning.
We want to make contributing to the regional sustainability plan as easy as possible. If you are not able to attend these sessions or did attend and would like to contribute further comments, we welcome your input.
The following questions will be discussed at the public sessions. Please, feel free to address a particular question or post general thoughts for action planning in the Tantramar region.

- Can we develop a business case for a regional shuttle system or car share program?
- What is being done in other communities?
- What scenario might work (privately run or as a social enterprise)?
- Where would the shuttle go?
Food & Local Business Development
- What can we do to work towards regional food security?
- What can we do to get people to value food?
- What are some strategies to encourage eating whole foods?
- How can consumers and producers work together to support the local food industry?
- What kinds of supports are necessary to make this happen?
Coastal Issues
- What impacts are we facing in coastal areas in Tantramar?
- Where are these impacts being felt?
- Is there infrastructure or facilities that are at risk?
- Who are most vulnerable?
- What impacts might these coastal issues have on the local economy?
- What are the environmental consequences of these coastal impacts?
- What can we do as a community to address these impacts?
Energy
- What can we do to our reduce dependency on fossil fuels?
- What can we do to engage citizens, businesses and governments in conserving energy and adopting energy efficient behaviours?

Water
- What should we do as citizens to conserve water?
- What are the key issues we need to address in terms of water safety and supply?
- What can our local governments do to help ensure a safe water supply?
Bio-regional Planning
- What are the three or four fundamental issues we should be focusing on in Tantramar in terms of bio-regional planning?
- How can we use planning as a tool to help maintain and improve the function of our ecosystems?
- How can we work together to limit the human impact on the environment?
