Community collaboration will be key to regional sustainability

By Katie Tower, Staff Reporter, Sackville Tribune-Post

Keep the word teamwork in mind.  That’s what will be required over the next few months as the balls gets rolling on a regional sustainability plan that will determine how communities throughout Tantramar can collaborate to tackle significant challenges over the next 30 years.

The process got under way last month when partners were brought together to brainstorm their ideas during a workshop, hosted by EOS Eco-Energy Inc. and the local planning commission, entitled Tantramar 2040: Issues and Opportunities.

The workshop was the first in a series of workshops that aimed to identify and prioritize regional issues, a first step towards developing an action plan based on those concerns.
