Mark your calendars! The 4th Annual Tantramar Climate Change Week (CCW) is being planned for January 23rd – January 30th, 2016. EOS Eco-Energy has been coordinating community members and groups to organize events that bring awareness to climate change and what we can do to address it. The theme for the week this year is Hope in Action. “We wanted to express our hope that we can change the course we’re on and avoid catastrophic climate change,” said Megan Mitton, Project Coordinator at EOS Eco-Energy. “It’s a call to action and we’re putting our hope for the future into action by planning Climate Change Week 2016.”

The final details are being confirmed and CCW 2016 is going to be full of a variety of events, including: a Welcome Ceremony to kick off the week on January 23rd, presentations on local climate change adaptation projects, visits to local schools to educate youth about climate change and renewable energy, and a community meal to start the C3 Campus Climate Challenge, led by Eco-Action at Mount Allison University. On Tuesday, January 26th, award-winning journalist and best-selling author Naomi Klein will be speaking as part of the President’s Speakers Series at 7pm at Convocation Hall, Mount Allison University.
A full list of events will be available next week. In the meantime, you can find updates on the CCW Facebook page: www.facebook.com/TantramarClimateChangeWeek/ (the full name of the page is “Semaine de changement climatique de Tantramar Climate Change Week”).
