Standby Power Campaign

In 2009 EOS Eco-Energy launched the Don’t be a host for power sucking ghosts campaign. The target for this campaign was standby power (aka phantom power), because even when many of our household electronic devices and appliances are turned “off”, they continue to draw power 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. According to Natural Resources Canada, standby power accounts for 5–10% of your monthly power bill. Standby power really adds up!

Are you interested in taking action on standby power? Please complete and return a commitment form to EOS Eco-Energy.

To find out just how much electricity your electronics use while they are plugged-in all day, sign out a Kill-a-Watt Meter from your local public library.
